Thilo Dietz studied social sciences (B.Sc.) with a focus on social psychology and healthcare science (M.Sc.) at the University of Cologne until 2021. During his Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, he already worked at the Center for Palliative Medicine and in the Psycho-oncological Health Services Research working group at Clinic I for Internal Medicine at Cologne University Hospital.
After completing his master’s degree, he continued his academic career with a doctorate at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Cologne and investigated the psychological phenomenon of speechlessness in the context of oncological care. He has been working as a research assistant at the Chair of Medical Sociology since August 2024. He takes over the operational project coordination, previously under the direction of Dr. Susan Lee, of EMMA-NRW (evaluation and survey of patients with breast cancer in the NRW breast centers) and additional tasks in teaching coordination.
